this years goin' fast.

so i finally added some new art to the site [fourth box below]... one is of a robot that i just did for fun, and the other is of one of my california memories. its not quite finished, but i'm not sure how to finish it. i guess my main issue is whether to keep the sketch lines of the main character, or to erase it and make him more realistic. i started to erase around the mouth/face. but i kind of like the sketch lines, it makes the him stand out more. but i havn't quite mastered making things look realistic with a tablet... not quite yet. anyways... this school year is going pretty fast. next weekend is the IU/Purdue game.. so for you purdue kids, i'm gonna be in your area. just to let you know. then after that is thanksgiving. im excited. i havn't been home for quite a while, and i definitely miss my dogs. so just to put it out there, if i havn't seen you for a while it'd be nice to do so during thanksgiving break... just a thought.

halloween!

this is my favorite month. this is my favorite holiday. im pretty excited. the only thing im bummed about is that i won't get to go trick or treating this year. and you are never too old to go trick or treating, i swear. but the halloween weekend here has been quite a trip. its a big change from what im used to, but i've been having a good time. i was a gangster for halloween, it was a really cute outfit... a little more showy than i'm used to, and i was a little unconfortable at first. but i got over that fast. my weekend started on thursday. three nights in costume straight. it was fun. i'm definitely liking halloween b-town style.

so i went home for the first time since i've been at IU this weekend. its been nice, it was nice to be back in valpo, and to be able to drive my own car. i miss being able to drive. and having mom make food. hanging out with my valpo girls [robyn and diane] it was nice. i'd been planning to come back this weekend since summer cause the plain white t's were playing at the anual sorce stock at the union. i was bummed cause i thought i wouldn't be able to go cause the show was sold out, but i went an hour before the show started and talked to a girl there who said if i came back they might have an extra ticket for me. which they did, and it was awesome. jamie came with me, we ran into some valpo kids that were in town.. and i also got to see senor david which was fun. we all just had lunch a little bit ago. it was nice, im glad i got to go home.

i've been here a couple weeks, i should probably update. IU has been pretty good so far. classes are okay... its a lot more work than i'd expected but its managable. i've been meeting a bunch of new people which is always fun. im just glad how this is turning out so far. theres tons to do here... theres always something to do, or someone that wants to do something... which is a problem for me because i get distracted by anything and everything. its hard to concentrate here though. i cant keep on task, thats my biggest problem. but im definitely having a good time so far.

goo goo dolls...

this past weekend was nice. friday i drove up to chicago to go see the goo goo dolls + counting crows with smita, kirst, and tim... and then we met jenna and matt at the show. the drive itself was quite an adventure. it was pretty much raining throughout the whole show, but it made the show more fun. we danced and sang in the rain, and were drentched on the way home. the whole show just brought me back, because these two bands were bands i grew up on from my brother. i thought the goo goo dolls did a great job live, and the counting crows... they were alright. i wasnt really that impressed. a good half of their set seemed all the same, but there were a couple songs i liked in there. overall it was a good show.

another year

so i turned 18 today. just another year i guess, it all feels the same. i'm doing my usual 24hr thing again, and it's been pretty easy so far. im currently on my roof waiting for sunrise. it's supposed to be at 5:58, hopefully this year it'll be nice. it's already starting to get lighter out. it's amazing how fast it all comes. sunset will be at 7:46 tonight; hope that one will be good too...

one more week
one more week till i'm out of valpo. its kind of crazy... people are leaving here left and right. this last week has been pretty good though. i really enjoyed hanging with the old group and stuff before a couple of them left. hope all you purdue kids are having fun at bgr! even more exciting, the goo goo dolls and counting crows concert is coming up this week. i'm pretty psyched. life is pretty good. i just gotta get my shit together for college, and soon.

summer is ending (and so are other things)

it's sad, but it's true. summer is ending, but this summer has definitely been a good one. this past week i was looking at pictures from the last couple of years... from my friends band concerts, to dances, to a breakfast club, to chicago shows, to spontaneous nights, and random trips... i realize that i have met some of the most amazing people. many that i'm going to miss, many that i already do. and yesterday at Jills party... it just brought back tons of memories; they made me smile. kudos to her for pulling that shindig together. i've recently been trying to get all my college shit together, its exciting... and frighening at the same time. but i think i'll be alright. all i really need now is to find out my roommate; IU is extremely behind in this matter. it's kind of a nuisance.

california

california was AMAZING. while there, i fell in love with the west coast. i loved it all; hanging out at the beach, surfing, watching the surf competitions, and just being with my close friends. i was sad to leave. the weather there is perfect; none of this 90 and humid crap. and the lifestyle there is so... just laid back, and i can honestly say i could see myself living there in the future. anyone want to rent a house with me next summer there? haha, oh well, back to indiana for now. the fair is in town, gotta make the best of it.
